Valagil Canyon

Valagil canyon or ravine is located in Álftafjörður in the Western Fjords, near  Seljalandsdalur Valley and not far from the village Súðavík. A partly marked trail leads to the Valagi canyon from the parking lot. It is about a 40 minute hike one way ,about 2 km. In Valagjá you can see ancient lava formations and an impressive waterfall.  Suprisingly few people visit Valagil canyon  even though it is an easy hike and well worth it, as the Valagil ravine and the waterfall cannot be seen from the road.
