Snorralaug Pool
Located in the small Icelandic village of Reykholt in West Iceland and first mentioned in the 12th Century writings of Snorri Sturluson (1178-1241), one of Iceland´s most famous poets and writers of the Middle Ages. The pool is circular, stone lined and fed by a hot spring. The stones at the base of the pool are originated from the 10th Century. Snorri used the naturally heated pool to bathe. From the hot spring a tunnel led to his home. Today the pool is not used for bathing.
