Reynisfjara Beach
Located in South Iceland, Reynisfjara is a world famous, black sand beach, close to the village of Vík í Mýrdal. It is considered by many as one of the top, non-tropical beaches on the planet to visit. Reynisfjara has black, volcanic sand, smooth pebbles, enormous hexagonal basalt stacks and roaring waves. From the beach you have a view of the Reynisdrangar sea stacks. It was the filming location for Eastwatch Beach in The Game of Thrones and was also a filming location for the Star Trek film, Into Darkness (2013), and Noah (2014).
