Litlanesfoss is located in North East Iceland next to the Lagarfljót Lake and close to the largest forest in Iceland, Hallormstaðarskógur. It is 30 meters (98 feet) high and falls in two cascades into the river Hengifossá. It is framed by long basalt columns and situated in the river Hengifossá. It is near the middle of the 2.5 km trail to Hengifoss. It has some of the longest basalt columns in Iceland and the waterfall itself is about 30 meters high. The walk from the car park to Litlanesfoss is about 1.1 Km.
