Highlights from the Place

Landmannalaugar is a remote geothermal area known for its lavafields and hot springs. Located in the Highlands of Iceland, next to the black lava field Laugahraun, it is only accessible by 4WD during the summertime as it is quite a rough gravel road and there are several small unbridged rivers to be crossed. Landmannalaugar is the starting point of the famous hiking trail Laugarvegur, also known as “The hot spring route” which runs between Landmannalaugar and Þórsmörk. It is one of the most popular hiking trails in Europe. Close to the camping site at Landmannalaugar is a natural geothermal pool, with an ideal temperature for bathing and relaxing.
