Hellulaug Pool

Hellulaug is a natural geothermal pool in the southern Western Fjords. It is located by the sea in Vatnsjförður, about 400 meters east of Hótel Flókalundur. The water comes from a nearby geothermal spring. The pool is 3-4 metres in diameter and about 50-70 cm deep with a temperature of about 38 degrees C. It can accomodate about 10 people. Next to Hotel Flókalundur is a camping site, and in recent years Hellulaug has become quite popular, and it can be crowded at times.
