Guðrúnarlaug Pool
Located in North West Iceland and named after Guðrún Ósvífursdóttir, the heroine of the best-known of the Icelandic Sagas, Laxdæla Saga. The pool is free to use but be aware that temperature of the pool can vary. Close to the pool is a small turf cabin used as a changing room. Hotel Laugar and a camping site are close by. Guðrúnarlaug was called “the Baths of Saelingsdale” in the saga, and has been known for 1000 years. In the 19th century it was hit by a landslide, and was recently reconstructed.
