Highlights from the Place

Flögufoss is located in East Iceland about 20 km west of the small village of Breiðdalsvík. It is situated in the river Flöguá that runs in the valley of Flaga or Flögudalur. It is quite a high waterfall of about 60 meters. Near the top of the waterfall is another small waterfall falling on a terrace through a small stone arch. The easiest way to visit Flögufoss is to take road 95 from Breiðdalsvík and then the gravel road number 966. From there onwards is an easy short hike from the road to get a better view of the waterfall.
