Fjallsárlón Lagoon

Located in South Iceland, Fjallsárlón is a glacial lake with floating icebergs. Fjallsjökull glacier which is part of the Vatnajökull ice cap reaches down to the lake. Fjallsárlón is about a 10 minute drive from the more famous Jökulsárlón lagoon.  It is easily accessed by car as it is just a few km from the ringroad no. 1. Above Fjallárslón is the famous volcano Öræfajökull, the highest volcano in Iceland. Guided boat tours are offered on the lagoon during the summer time.
