Dynkur is located in the river Þjórsá in South Iceland. It is the longest river in Iceland located in Þjórsárdalur, about 230 km long. Dynkur is a multi segmented waterfall falling of 38 meters at its highest peak. The average volume of Þjórsá in the area of Dynkur is about 350 cubic meters/sec. The road to visit Dynkur from road F26 is a marked trail and it is only suitable for special SUV´s or off road vehicles. Even though there is no river crossing, be aware the road is very rough. Dynkur is also called Búðarhálsfoss.
