Bjarnarfoss is located on the south side of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in the river Bjarná. It falls 80 metres in two tiers from basalt cliffs. The upper tier can sometimes be blown upwards in strong winds. It can be seen from road 54 leading to the town of Ólafsvík. It can also be seen on the way to Aranstapi, Hellnar and Lóndrangar. One year ago, the construction of a car parking and a hiking trail was finished. So the access to the waterfall is easy . Bjarnafoss is an impressive waterfall seen from the road, but it is even more impressive when taking the hiking trail and standing right in front of it.
